Halloween

Dear Blake,

Yesterday your dream came true of being a garbage man, because you were one for Halloween!  I had got you a WM (waste management) shirt and made you a WM hat and you wore a yellow safety vest and carried a garbage truck shaped box to collect your candy in.  You were the cutest garbage man ever!  You had said you wanted to be that since last year so it was a long time coming.  You ended up getting a ton of candy!

Dentist

Dear Blake,

I am soooooooooo proud of you!  Yesterday I took you to the dentist for the second time and you did so well!  You didn’t cry at all, and you let them clean your teeth this time!  You were such a big boy and you were so happy that you did a good job.  They let you pick out a prize and you got a balloon.  I’m so proud of how grown up you got since the last time we went.

Mama

Such a big boy!

Dear Blake,

You just had your last swim lesson of the year and you graduated your level!   You got your last patch and they said next time you come back you will be in the next level.

Yesterday I took you to your first day of 4 year old preschool!  I can’t believe you will go three days a week now and eat a lunch there.  Next year you will be in Kindergarten which is just crazy!  You are just growing up too fast!

Mini vacation

Dear Blake,

This summer we went on a mini vacation to lake geneva and stayed at a place called timber ridge.  There was a water park inside the hotel!  It was such a fun place to spend as a family!   There was an arcade and a theater room where there was also crafts and bingo during the day.   We swam a lot and you were going down all the kiddie slides. You have gotten to be quite a swimmer this summer.  You started off set swim lessons not wanting to go in the water and now you have gotten two patches and are being so brave in the water.   It was a perfect place to take you!

Summer

Dear Blake,
This summer you started going to swim lessons at the Bear Paddle swim school. You have gone twice now and are doing so great! You went the first time and were very nervous and didn’t want to go in. By the second time you went, you didn’t even cry and did everything the teacher told you and I wouldn’t be surprised if you passed your first level soon! We also signed you up for T-ball again this year. You play for a team this year at the New Lenox park district called the River Bandits. You will be having your first game on Thursday!
I’m just so happy to be able to spend this entire summer with you and Owen. I’m trying to make everyday fun try to do something new and exciting with you and Owen. So far we have been to Great America, T-ball, swim lessons, the zoo, touch a truck, splash pad, swimming, etc.

I love you and we will continue to have a great summer!

4 years old

Dear Blake,

You are 4 years old!  I can’t believe you turned 4.  You wanted to have a garbage truck party so we had that!  You had a garbage truck cake and garbage truck decorations and it was at the bowling alley.  You had a lot of fun bowling and then eating and cake and opening presents, which included a lot of garbage truck presents!  You even got a real bowling pin which everyone signed for you!  I still can’t believe you are 4!

All moved out

Dear Blake,

We are officially all moved out of our house. You lived there for almost 4 years of your life. You may not remember it except for pictures. It was a great house. We had a lot of memories there in about 6 years of living there. But now it’s time for a bigger house for our family. We are living with Papa and Gigi while our new house is being built. In a few months we will be moving in to that new house and that is where you will grow up. I hope you will love our new house just as much as I have loved our old one.

Love,
Mama

Our New House

Dear Blake,

We officially bought and will be building a new home! We will be moving in a few days out of this house and moving in with Papa and Gigi for a while so that our new house can be built. I’m very excited to be able to move and live in a new home and to give you and your brother a great new house to live in!

Mama

Garbage man

Dear Blake,
You are completely obsessed with the garbage man and all things garbage! YOU love watching for the garbage man and setting out the garbage cans. You know the difference between the different garbage companies. You love waste management the most and you even say that some of the garbage cans have a “WM” down and a “WM” up. Down means the letters are down toward the bottom and up means the letters are up toward the top. It took us a year to figure out what you were talking about.
Papa and Gigi have a garbage day movie that you watch EVERY time you go over there. It’s from the library and it’s made the in the 1980’s and has funky 80’s music that you know by heart now. You even taught me what a rolloff was. I had no clue.
You say you want to be a garbage man for Halloween. I just happened to find a yellow neon vest you can wear for the costume. You are so excited you already want to wear it everywhere!
You have quite a collection of garbage trucks and toy garbage cans. You set them up all around the room and drive your trucks around to pick up the “garbage” (which is pieces of paper and small things to make garbage.) You even ask everyone to create “WM” labels for you to tape on your trucks. It has become quite the obsession. Gigi says one day you might become CEO of waste management.

Mama

Progress report

Dear Blake,

Recently at your preschool, your teachers sent home a progress report about you.  How exciting it was to read!  They said that you were a very kind and smart young boy.  They said that you should definitely try to get in the young achievers class next year, which is an extension of the preschool day for students that are ready for Kindergarten but not old enough yet.  I want to say that I couldn’t believe what they were saying, but to be honest, we knew they would say something like this.  You are a very bright boy for your age.  Even a long time ago you already knew all your letters and letter sounds and colors and shapes and all that jazz.  So it came as no surprise that they thought you were bright too.  I just hope to continue that and enrich your education further.

Keep it up buddy!

Love, Mama
