Our neighborhood park finally opened! We have waited for it for about 7 years since we were going to live here. You guys love it and are there every single day! There is a regular park with slides and swings, and then there is a ninja warrior course and even tennis courts and a path around the whole thing with a water fountain. You guys spend a lot of time there and even eat lunch there! We also celebrated the 4th of July with family and went to see the New Lenox fireworks show!
You turned 10 on May 27th which was also your last day of school! I can’t believe you’re 10! We had our family over for cake and choli’s! You finished school so amazing with great grades and many compliments from your teachers about how amazing you are! You even got to be in the assembly with Matt Wilhelm doing a bike trick! You and Owen got to come to my school for “take your kid to work day”. We had so much fun! You started playing baseball and you really improved so much to where your coaches started calling you the wizard! You even got asked to play in your first all star game! We got a Basketball hoop and a pool! We have been having so much fun with both! We had a big birthday party for you and Owen with a bounce house and our pool! We have also been bowling, splash pads, library and swimming in Papa and Gigi’s pool! So far it’s been a great summer!
A lot has happened since we got the masks taken off! We went to play bingo at your school! We also bought a pool and it will be put in on May 31st! The McDonalds play place is open finally again after 2 years! We took you to play there again and it was amazing. We had spring break and we did a lot of things like painting, playdoh, sleep in the tent inside, space golf, zoo, bowling, sleepover at Papa and Gigis, and the ball factory! We hadn’t been there in 2 years and I think you forgot what it was like but you loved it! We also went to the park.
After 700 days of being forced to wear masks, you finally don’t have to wear a mask to school! We are so happy! You screamed “ALRIGHT! LETS GO!” I of course cried. It was the happiest day since all of this nightmare started! You finally get to breathe freely. Even at basketball there are no more masks! Thank God! Thank goodness lots of us parents tried our hardest to fight against people forcing us to be masked. If I can teach you anything it is that we live in America where you have freedoms and don’t let anyone try to take away your freedoms. Always stand up for them and yourself. Goodness always wins. Good always triumphs over evil. I will never stop fighting for you guys and to advocate for you. I live you and I’m glad for this moment.
A lot has happened since Halloween. We had Thanksgiving at Gigi Sandy’s house. We went to see Santa at bass pro shops and helped Papa and Gigi decorate their tree. We went to a Christmas parade in Mokena and then put up our Christmas decorations. I got to go to parent teacher conferences at your school and see your classroom and hear how awesome you’re doing at school. We decorated gingerbread houses, went to New Lenox Christmas in the commons and went on a horse drawn carriage ride! We went to Santa’s secret workshop and bought presents for people.
You started basketball! You are good at it and we enjoy watching you play! We are riceballs and celebrated Dada’s birthday. Then we went to Traversos for the last time. We went to Wisconsin Dells with Grandma Sandy. We also went to the museum of Science and Industry.
Then we had Christmas morning and then celebrated with Dadas family. We didn’t have Christmas Eve because Gigi got covid. We had to postpone it. Then we all got covid so we had to postpone it more. Finally we got to have our Christmas Eve in January!
We celebrated New years with friends and went sledding 2 times!
We are finally back home! We are not living in a hotel anymore! They finished the carpet and floors and painting so we moved back home! We still are waiting for the cabinets but that’s ok. We are so happy to be here and we already set up all the rooms!
We also got to go visit your school and classroom! It was great to see everything. We are enjoying the last bit of summer playing with friends!
We are having a fun summer so far! We went on a vacation to Jacksonville Beach and then Hilton Head. We drove there and spent many days visiting Auntie Christine and Uncle Bryan. Going to the beach and swimming in the pool and eating out at restaurants!
We also got back and went to Oakbrook and the zoo, mini golfing, library, swimming in Papa and Gigi’s pool and had a bowling birthday party! This weekend is the 4th of July and I can’t wait to do some fun things and see fireworks!
I can’t believe you are done with 3rd grade! This crazy school year has come to an end finally! To think we started the year remote learning and started in person learning in October and then went back to remote learning in November and then went back to in person learning in January until now, is just crazy! Your last year at Spencer Pointe was definitely different. No field trips, assemblies, music performances, etc. But we ended the year by celebrating your 9th birthday! The second to last day of school.was your birthday. We got you a cake and balloons and presents and Papa and Gigi had a celebration at their house with your favorite cholis!
We had a fire in our house so we are living in a hotel. What a crazy end to a crazy year. But THANK GOD it’s summer! Goodbye 2020-21 school year. We never want to see you again! ✌
Last night we had a big snowstorm and we went sledding today…twice! We played in the snow in the morning at home and then we went to our sledding hill at schoolhouse manor Park. There were TONS of people there! It seemed like all of New Lenox was there! We had fun with all the neighbor kids and then we drove over to Papa and Gigi’s and went sledding with them at the Don’s hot dogs hill! Papa and Gigi even went down the hill with you! After we went to the Patio! What a fun day we had!
